Join countless other young researchers aiming to get published and receive feedback from experienced professionals, students, and professors within the competitive landscape of research. Each competition is judged by experienced individuals, affiliated with universities or companies and highly specialized in their category. This year our judges are Jacinda Taggett and Dr. Lauren Walters for neuroscience & psychology, and physics. Deadline for applications: March 7th
Every month, Nexus Journal hosts a competition in which researchers from across the nation are given the choice between interdisciplinary categories, ranging from cultural studies and literature analysis to biological sciences and psychology. Judged by professionals in their respective field, the next generation of researchers have the opportunity to make it to the world stage through publishing their work and gaining important mentorship from the experienced. The first competition’s application opens February 1st, 2025. Themes and categories will be released January 17th. The date of results for each category will vary.
The top 3 students will get published on the The Nexus Journal. These individuals will be selected by the judges of each category.
Lauren Walters is postdoctoral scholar at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California, Berkely. Originally from Seattle, WA, she completed her bachelors and masters degrees at Case Western Reserve University in polymer science and engineering before completing her PhD in materials science at Northwestern University. Her research interests include computational materials science, synthesis science, corrosion science, and energy materials for batteries.
Jacinda Taggett is a Research Associate at the Jagust Lab in UC Berkeley’s Neuroscience Department and currently applying to PhD programs in Cognitive Neuroscience. Research interests for Jacinda surround human memory, and how it can be improved or worsened via various factors such as neuromodulator release or neurodegenerative disease.
