"When I first started researching for my topic, I knew that I would be delving very deep into my area of focus. But, I also found myself encountering and learning about the guidelines for writing professional academia, and the intricate details that go into academic papers; this knowledge is something I am extremely grateful for, as knowing how to write academically is a vital skill that I can utilize throughout college and beyond. Nexus gave me that opportunity, and along with their well-curated feedback from the judges, my experience was well worth the countless hours of research and revisions. The judges meticulously look through the structure, ideas, and vocabulary in a paper and provide excellent feedback with the goal of improving and enhancing. I was delighted to read through the comments on my paper and found so many suggestions that I would have never thought of, and this kind of mentor review is what makes Nexus a great opportunity to challenge yourself and see how your writing will be seen in the academic world. Overall, I highly recommend participating in the Nexus competition, no matter what writing experience you have. It is a great way to not only delve into higher level sciences, but to enhance your writing skills and having your writing reviewed by professionals in the field, a critical experience that you can use for college and beyond."

"Participating in Nexus' competition was an amazing experience and I am very proud to have gotten 3rd place. Not only did it motivate me to deepen my interest in computer science and physics, the process of writing a paper and their feedback gave me valuable skills for later in life. Through taking abstract concepts and putting them on paper, I learned how to format my ideas in an understandable way and improved my ability to explain my thoughts clearly. Additionally, through the environment Nexus created, I got a tangible understanding for how parts of college and academia function, helping me to decide what I want to do next. The feedback the judges provided was clear and concise, allowing me to quickly grasp how to continue to improve. I highly recommend this competition to any high schooler looking to gain research experience and strengthen their passions in STEM."
